Colette sprints to success for CBM!

Colette Barker - a marathon fundraiser!
CBM supporter, Colette Barker, completed the Flora London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April and in doing so, raised a fantastic £2800.13 for CBM. The money raised by Colette went towards providing cataract surgery and Vitamin A drops and treating Trachoma and River Blindness.
She writes: "The atmosphere was fantastic, spectators were all around the 26.2 mile course and were cheering all the runners on, which was very encouraging".
"What made it extra special was that my family and close friends gave up their time to come and cheer me on and it was an added bonus that I actually managed to see them on route which gave me a real boost of encouragement".
"I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute of the race and I can't wait to take part in another Marathon".
Colette completed the run in an impressive 4 hours and 37 minutes.
Colette adds "However, my opinion changed slightly come Monday morning when I could hardly get out of bed because my leg muscles were refusing to cooperate, but hey, NO PAIN, NO GAIN!!"
"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated their money, time, and prayer support and thank you to Jesus for giving me the strength to carry on!
I held on to the following verses throughout the race (and they are so true!!)"
- "Nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37)
- "I can do all things through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13)
Less than a week later, Colette was out running again!
