Disabilities
Community
Disability is a community problem that needs a community solution.
Whilst it may be easy to see a physical disability as something that restricts a person from living a fuller life, their surrounding environment and the society which they live in is just as much of an impairment.
Nadine Lusi, CBM UK's Advocacy Officer works with other organisations to address disability issues, raise awareness and pressure governments to maintain their development goals.
CBM always works in partnership with national and local organisations; is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and provides an important advocacy link between the blind, deaf and disabled and their governments.
Our Work
Our fields of work include medical services, education, and rehabilitation for people with disabilities to help break the vicious cycle of poverty and disability.
In addition, we aim to provide training programmes for local workers so that communities can become self-sufficient - empowering them with skills, expertise and a legacy for the future.
