BRING A MIRACLE INTO SIGHT!

Bakari's childhood had been snatched from him. And now blindness was also threatening to steal away his future.

Bakari had never seen his mother.

Nine year old Bakari from Tanzania, couldn't go to school. He couldn't learn to farm his family's garden. In fact, he'd never seen Naomi - his mother. Why? Because of his bilateral cataracts. His CURABLE cataracts, which had stood in his way since he was born.

All Bakari needed was the straightforward and relatively quick operation - giving him sight and enabling him to live a fuller life. To him, it seemed like nothing short of a miracle. A simple, amazing miracle.

When my boy can see again, he'll be able to go to school

Naomi, Bakari's mother.

Not alone

Almost 18 million people worldwide are bilaterally blind from cataract, with about 90% living in the poorest countries.

Cataracts are nothing new to Bakari's family either. His mother, Naomi, has had a cataract since she was twelve but fortunately, when we met Bakari and Naomi, they were both about to have sight-giving operations at a CBM-supported hospital near Dar es Salaam.

By supporting CBM, you will be making miracles happen for others like Bakari and Naomi.

We need your urgent help now, more than ever.

So if you can, please help CBM by donating online - the fastest and most secure method to give the gift of sight.
