CONFLICTS IN THE CONGO
A new photographic exhibition in Cambridge portrays the people of Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has been given an extended run.
The exhibition - ‘Conflicts in the Congo’ is enjoying an extended run at the Michaelhouse Centre, Trinity Street, Cambridge from 1st – 13th June 2009.
Widespread violence has left thousands at risk of life-long disability in the DRC.
CBM has been working in the DRC with local partners for more than 30 years, providing healthcare, education and rehabilitation services. We have continued to work with partners throughout the last decade and a half of conflict.
“I want to raise awareness of two separate conflicts in DRC, and raise the profile of CBM”, said Nadine Lusi, Advocacy Officer, who grew up in DRC.
Cambridge based artist and photojournalist, Keith McAllister has followed CBM's work in the field for a number of years and is responsible for creating the incredible images that will be on display.
The Michaelhouse Centre is open 8am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday but if you are unable to make it to the exhibition, you can take a look at a slideshow of the images online.
