Share a Prayer for World Sight Day 2009
To mark World Sight Day 2009, CBM is encouraging supporters to join together at 20:20 (8:20pm) and pray for those who are blind or have a visual impairment.
CBM would like to invite you to join with us in 'Share a Prayer' for World Sight Day on 8th October 2009. We would like to encourage as many of our supporters as possible to
dedicate
20 minutes of their time at 20:20 (8.20pm) to remember in prayer, the women and girls in the developing world who are blind or are living with a visual impairment.
Did you know that women and girls make up nearly two thirds of the population of people who are blind?
About World Sight Day
World Sight Day is an international awareness day, organised by the Vision 2020: Right to Sight. This year the theme of 'Gender and Eye Health - equal access to care' will be marked on 8th October. It aims to highlight the need for greater access to sight-saving health care for women and girls, who often miss out.
The Vision 2020 initiative was formed in collaboration between the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), together with leading eye care organisations - including CBM.
