Richard climbs Mount Kilimanjaro for CBM
A CBM supporter from Hampshire aims to climb the tallest mountain in Africa to raise money for CBM.
Richard Lee, from Basingstoke in Hampshire, has set himself an incredible challenge.
He has chosen to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for CBM in early May.
"I have always admired the work of CBM, so to be able to support their work is an honour", he told us.
Richard is currently on a gap year between college and university, and had always planned to do some travelling. When the opportunity to go to Nairobi in Kenya came up, he decided that he could use the opportunity to cross the border into Tanzania to climb the mountain and raise money for CBM.
Mount Kilimanjaro is an inactive stratovolcano which rises 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) and ranks as the tallest mountain in Africa. It stands in the North Eastern part of Tanzania - a country in which CBM has supported projects for many years.
Richard set himself a target of £350, but he has already raised more than £1,300 before even setting foot on the mountain.
