“Cambridge Chorale, finalists in BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year, will be performing a Festival of Folk songs in aid of Cambridge based CBM, the overseas disability charity.

Cambridge Chorale’s Festival of Folk Songs will be held on Saturday, 18 July at 7.30pm, at St Paul’s Church, Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 1JP. Tickets are available from: www.cambridgechorale.org.uk (open link in new tab) or call 0845 680 1926. Tickets also available on the door: £1 discount for advance booking.

A Festival of Folk Song is a vibrant programme of folk songs from around the world. It features arrangements of songs from Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America and Scandinavia.

Formed in 1994 by Michael Kibblewhite, and currently directed by Julian Wilkins, the choir has established itself as one of the most accomplished adult chamber choirs in the country. Cambridge Chorale was recognised as one of the UK’s top six adult choirs in the finals of the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition (2008).

“This will be a great night of international music sung by a world-class choir. I’ve seen CBM’s life-changing work for myself in Vietnam and Tanzania. CBM’s UK HQ is in Oakington, Cambridge. CBM is a global expert in disability,” said Peter Godber, a former Bass singer with Cambridge Chorale.

There will be a £1 donation to CBM UK, the overseas disability charity for every ticket sold. Tickets: £14 (£12 concession), child/student £6 from www.cambridgechorale.org.uk (open link in new tab). 0845 680 1926, or on the door. Group discounts available.”
