An eye health care programme delivering essential services to eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

This eye care programme, which is based in Kisangani, close to the Congo River, covers a population of around 700,000 people.

The programme runs three sites in Kisangani, providing essential eye care to those most at need. The project performed 4,762 vision related consultations between January and June 2010.

The programme is being integrated into a comprehensive programme for disabilities named 'Comite Provincial pour la Protection de la Personne Vivant avec Handicap' (COPEHA - The Provincial Committee for the Protection of People Living with Disability).
