Providing essential community-based rehabilitation to people with disabilities in the Bulawayo Province.
Supported by CBM since 1991, the Jairos Jiri Outreach Programme is a comprehensive community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programme based in Bulawayo, in the western part of Zimbabwe.
It is one of several CBM projects in partnership with the Jairos Jiri Association, which has been active in Zimbabwe since 1964.
Community workers are active in seven high-density wards of the Bulawayo Province, serving a population of approximately 200,000 people. The CBR workers provide essential home-based rehabilitation as well as referral services for all types of disabilities.
The programme is especially active in the identification and referral of people who can benefit from ability restoring interventions.
