A programme providing education and training to deaf and hearing impaired children in the South Nyanza Province.
Supported by CBM since 1983, this large residential school for hearing impaired children, provides education to students from the poorest backgrounds who are unable to afford school fees.
In addition to providing a primary education, the programme also provides vocational training in carpentry, joinery and domestic science.
Children are able to access secondary education from the neighbouring school.
220 deaf students were enrolled at the school between January and June 2010, with 330 parents and carers trained in sign language and children's rights.
