Prevention of childhood blindness in Latin America

A major programme for the prevention of childhood blindness reaching across Peru and Brazil.

This programme focuses on both retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and low vision.

The ROP activities are based in Rio de Janeiro, whilst low vision activities are based in Sao Paulo.

The programme includes international workshops and evaluation visits which are carried out by the CBM ROP advisor, who is also Supervisor of this programme.

The programme is financed largely by Standard Chartered Bank through their Seeing Is Believing programme.
