Prevention of childhood blindness in Latin America

A major programme for the prevention of childhood blindness reaching across Peru and Brazil.

This programme focuses on both retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and low vision.

The ROP and low vision activities in Peru are based in Lima, reaching out to the surrounding provinces.

The programme also includes international workshops and evaluation visits, carried out by the CBM ROP adviser, who is also Supervisor of this programme.

The programme is financed largely by Standard Chartered Bank through their Seeing Is Believing programme.
