Situated in the Bas Congo province, this project serves a large department within the Institut Médical Evangélique de Kimpese - a large teaching hospital about 3 hours drive by road from Kinshasa. It is a cooperative project between CBM and a number of Protestant Churches.
Outreach
A comprehensive outreach programme has been developed and serves three districts - namely Cataractes, Lukaya and Matadi with a total of 18 satellite centres in the surrounding rural area, reaching the extremely poor population.
The beneficiary population is 1,393,155 people, with an estimated 6,965 blind cataract patients.
