Jenni runs for See the Way

Jenni has some strong supporters to cheer her on - two of her sons!

CBM will be cheering on team member Jenni Ramos next month as she takes on the challenge of the Cambridge Half Marathon.

After completing the half marathon last year in support of CBM’s See the Way appeal, Jenni is hoping to second this success on 8 March. She will be raising vital funds for the appeal, helping people with sight problems in the world’s poorest places, providing sight-saving surgery, glasses and support.

Whatever Jenni raises this year will be doubled by the UK government. Until 12 May, all donations made to the appeal will be matched by UK Aid – helping twice as many people to See the Way to a brighter future. This year she hopes to top her impressive total of £1836.53, raised jointly with Robert Dillarstone, Chair of CBM’s Board of Trustees, in 2019.

This year, for the first time, the 13.1 mile course will take runners through two iconic University of Cambridge colleges – King’s College and Jesus College. Jenni, Senior Compliance Officer at CBM’s Cambridge office, is looking forward to the day and says: “I ran the Cambridge half marathon [to raise funds for CBM UK] last year and am hoping to beat my time! I feel privileged to work for CBM UK and to watch my amazing colleagues fund and implement programmes that transform lives. It is a unique opportunity for my own personal fundraising to unlock funds from the UK government to break the cycle of poverty and disability and promote independence, equality, choice and control.”
