Patrick lost his sight to cataracts. You can be the answer to his prayer.

Your gift today can answer the prayer of someone like Patrick.

Patrick lives in a village in rural Zambia, southern Africa, in a tiny one-room hut. He has always lived a simple life.  After a day’s work on his small farm, Patrick used to enjoy reading God’s word in the evening.

But blindness took that joy away from him

Cataracts completely stole Patrick’s sight and forced him into a world of isolation and darkness. He has been unable to raise a crop for harvest. He could not see the faces of his children and grandchildren. Nor has he been able to read God’s word.

Will you help someone like Patrick to read his Bible again?

Without his wife, Patrick is completely reliant on his 16-year-old grandson. Patrick’s son Shadreck says, “It hurts to see my father like this. Since he was blinded, he only sits around. He can’t read anymore. He used to love to read the Bible and his religious magazines...”

But people living in the world’s poorest places, who cannot afford a simple operation, can spend the rest of their lives totally blind. Unable to look into the faces of their loved ones. Unable to work.

Your donation could enable someone like Patrick to work, walk unaided and read again.

Imagine being completely blind, knowing that £48 could restore your complete sight.

Please donate now and pray with us for people like Patrick who desperately need our help.

Blindness and poverty

People living with Cataracts in the world’s poorest places can spend the rest of their lives totally blind because a simple operation to remove them is out of reach.

Many of them have to stop working. Their children and grandchildren may have to stop school or work to look after them. So the whole family becomes even poorer.

“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers” (Ephesians 1:15-16).
