Join us this Holy Week as we reflect on Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem, death, and resurrection. For each day, we have written a short prayer for personal or group reflection.
Holy Week 2026
Palm Sunday, 29th March
This Palm Sunday, we pray for all communities celebrating your triumphal entry into Jerusalem. May this entry inspire us to welcome you into our hearts and our communities also to welcome the stranger, who is our neighbour.
Holy Monday, 30th March
We pray for an end to the cycle of poverty and disability, and to an end to cycles of selfishness, greed and irreverence which uphold global inequality and the injustice of poverty in a world which has enough for all people.
Holy Tuesday, 31st March
We pray for refugees, and all who have been forced from their homes by war, occupation and violence. We pray especially for the health, safety and freedom of Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, where CBM is supporting people with disabilities.
Holy Wednesday, 1st April
‘But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.’ (Matthew 5:44)
Lord, we pray for our enemies, and for those who betray us as you were betrayed. We pray for people who wage war on others, who have disregarded people with disabilities, and who abuse power.
Maundy Thursday, 2nd April
‘Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you should also wash one another’s feet.’ (John 13:14)
This Maundy Thursday, let us not recoil from what we deem unclean, but humble ourselves in service of our neighbours.
Good Friday, 3rd April
‘When Jesus had received the wine, he said “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.’ (John 19:30)
Father, in the vast emptiness of grief, when all is finished, let not our hearts be hardened by the harshness of this world, but softened and broken open to give and receive your love.
Holy Saturday, 4th April
‘So Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away.’ (Matthew 27:59-60)
Lord, sometimes we look around and cannot see you. Give us faith to believe that you are there.
Easter Sunday, 5th April
‘He is not here, but has risen!’ (Luke 24:6)
This Easter Sunday, we rejoice at the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, in the knowledge that all will be raised up through him.
Have a wonderful Easter from all at CBM UK!
