Your gift will have 5x the impact

Transform the lives of more people with disabilities like Ram Maya and Surbir.

Right now, your donation can have five times the impact!

Through our partnership with Jersey Overseas Aid, your donations can transform the lives of people with disabilities in Nepal. Your donation, whether £10 or £1000, will have five times the impact.

Jersey Overseas Aid funding will fund 80% of the project, with the remaining 20% coming from donations to CBM UK.

Your support enabled Ram Maya to attend monthly meetings as part of a self-help group. “The project began by reaching out to persons with disabilities at the grassroots level,” she told us. “Before this, we were unaware of the support activities available to us.”

Make the most of this wonderful opportunity to provide even more people with the skills, training and self-help groups they need to be more independent.

Your gift will have 5x the impact.

Transforming lives in Nepal

Our new project is based in Nepal, which is on the United Nations list of least developed countries. Many people live in isolated and rural conditions, which are hard to reach and vulnerable to landslides and floods.

Your support will enable us to reach 15,000 disabled people on low incomes with training that will enable them to know their rights and increase their financial autonomy.

Ensuring that people with disabilities have access to self-help groups like those Ram Maya and Surbir are part of will continue to transform lives and break down stigma and isolation.

By teaching climate-friendly techniques to families who rely on livestock and agriculture, together we can build sustainable and resilient communities.

Through our partnership with Jersey Overseas Aid, your support will have 5 times the impact, creating a better, more resilient future for more people like Ram Maya and Surbir.

Surbir’s story

After an accident 15 years ago, Surbir has never regained sight in his right eye, and is partially blind. “When I went for a checkup, they said it could not be cured,” he told us.

The accident left him and his family in dire straits. After his wife became ill, she was forced to stop work and return home. The tiny income Surbir received was not enough to survive.

Everything changed when Surbir heard about a similar project we ran in Nepal in 2023. He received business and financial literacy training, including record keeping.

Surbir was able to access start-up support, and he and his wife opened a small snack shop. Today, he is Vice-Chair of the self-help group which has changed his life.

Your gifts make an enormous difference in the lives of people like Surbir, proving critical access to support, advice, learning and new skills.
