A Christmas message from Diane Louise Jordan

Posted on: Thursday, December 22nd, 2022

Television presenter and long-term CBM supporter Diane Louise Jordan lent her voice to our Christmas appeal this year, to help children like 8-year-old Yogendra who are living needlessly blind. Thanks to our generous supporters, Yogendra has had cataract surgery and can see again!

CBM’s Christmas campaign featured 8-year-old Yogendra from Nepal, who lost his sight as a result of cataracts. Cataracts can be treated with straightforward surgery, but Yogendra’s family, like so many others living in poverty, could not afford the operation to restore their son’s sight.

But thanks to our amazing supporters, Yogendra had sight-saving surgery at CBM’s partner, Biratnagar Eye Hospital, in Nepal, bringing colour, light and opportunity back into his world.

Yogendra’s mother, Mina is full of gratitude:

“I have nothing but wishes to give back. It’s because of your support that my child can see again. This is not less than a miracle. I thank God, hospital staff and your organisation for all the support.”

Here’s a lovely Christmas message from Diane Louise Jordan:

“I’ve had the opportunity to see CBM’s fantastic, incredible work first hand. I had the chance to see a little boy gain his sight and it’s a memory that will never leave me. And that’s thanks to you. Your generosity means that the lives of children like Yogendra can be absolutely transformed. Thank you for helping to do this. Thank you for giving sight and bringing colour to a child’s world. Thank you – and Merry Christmas!”

If you haven’t yet donated to our Christmas campaign, it’s not too late. Find out more here.

Merry Christmas from all at CBM UK!
