The Chiltern Circle raise £4,697 to transform lives
The Chiltern Circle, a dedicated Catholic group connected with the Catenian Association, have raised a wonderful £4,697 to transform lives in the world’s poorest places.
The Chiltern Circle, which is based on shared values of Faith, Family and Friendships have over 45 members, who have all taken part in various events across the year including raffles and donations to raise money for CBM UK.
Dr Lewis Canning, who is President of the Chiltern Circle, tells us why he chose CBM UK as their charity of the year:
“Each year, we raise money for designated charities. In my year as President (Apr 2022-Apr 2023), I nominated CBM – because it is a charity that I have supported individually for many years, and the aims and ethos fit with those of the Catenians (being Christian and focused on helping others less fortunate than ourselves). The money was raised throughout the year by raffles and donations, with one special event in November 2022 raising over £600, and my sister making a generous personal donation also. We are delighted to hear that CBM will put the money raised to good use.”
Mark Housden, CBM UK’s Head of Marketing said: “What a fantastic achievement! We are so grateful to Dr Lewis Canning and everyone involved in the Chiltern Circle for making CBM their President’s Charity of the Year and for all they have done in raising such a huge amount. This support will truly make an incredible difference for people, families and entire communities in some of the world’s poorest places.
