On 3rd April 2022, Ben Aitken will run the Manchester Marathon to celebrate the life of his grandmother and raise funds for CBM’s life-changing work.

“CBM were a charity close to my Gran’s heart”, explains Ben. His grandmother Vera, who died in January this year, aged 99, always had time for her grandsons and could often be found chatting away on the phone to them. She was also a generous and longstanding CBM supporter.

“My Gran suffered with sight problems most of her life. She greatly valued the work CBM do to improve the lives of people in some of the poorest areas of the world. Simple medical procedures that can transform people’s lives.

Any donations, however small, would be gratefully received. Not only would they support a great cause, but I know my Gran would appreciate the gesture and would be thankful to you. And believe me when I say, if that brilliant woman would’ve thought well of you, then you are winning.”

Sponsor Ben and support CBM’s work in the world’s poorest communities (open link in new tab).

This is Ben’s first ever marathon. He continues his rigorous training this week, ready for the big event on 3rd April. Thank you Ben – we’ll be cheering for you!
