Cambridge art exhibition to celebrate CBM UK’s 21st birthday

Two artists have joined forces to stage an exhibition in Fulbourn, Cambridge entitled ‘Together’, raising funds and awareness of CBM’s work in transforming the lives of people with disabilities.

To mark CBM UK’s 21st birthday, Fulbourn artist, Allison Henderson and Jane Silk, artist and ceramicist from Rudgwick, Sussex, will be exhibiting some of their work together for the first time.

The art and ceramics exhibition called ‘Together’ is supported by Fulbourn Arts, the local organisation for promoting and encouraging all aspects of the arts in Fulbourn, Cambridge. Both Allison and Jane draw their inspiration for their work from the natural world.

“The art show ‘Together’ is being held to highlight and promote CBM’s vision for an inclusive world in which all people with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential,” said Gill Godber, organiser of the art show and CBM UK’s Volunteer Fundraiser in Cambridgeshire.

“Just like Fulbourn Arts, CBM, the overseas disability charity works towards inclusivity,” said David Cottee, of Fulbourn Arts.

In addition to the artwork, visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a Pop Up café in the open garden (weather permitting). There will also be art workshops for adults on Friday, 19th May 2017. Contact Allison Henderson (open link in new tab) to reserve your place.

Proceeds from the café and 10% of art sales from the exhibition will go to CBM UK.
