Cambridge Half Marathon runners help people See the Way to a brighter future

Jenni & Robert at Cambridge half marathon for CBM UK See the Way.

Congratulations to Jenni Ramos and Robert Dillarstone who completed the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday to raise money for CBM’s See the Way appeal, helping people living with sight problems in the world’s poorest communities.

The pair joined 10,000 runners on a 13.1 mile course around the city of Cambridge. Together they have raised an amazing £1836.53 – which will be doubled by the UK government – helping twice as many people to See their Way to a brighter future.

Jenni Ramos works as a Senior Support Officer at CBM UK’s office in Cambridge. She chose to run for the See the Way appeal because she’s passionate about improving support for families with of children with disabilities. She explains: “As a mother to a child with cerebral palsy and autism, I know how difficult life can be with a disability in this country, so I can’t imagine what it must be like for a child living in one of the world’s poorest places. That’s why I support CBM UK – to help children See the Way to a brighter future.”

Robert Dillarstone is a Managing Partner at law firm Greenwoods GRM and recently joined CBM UK’s Trustee Board: “I was delighted to be raising funds for CBM UK’s See the Way appeal through sponsorship at today’s Cambridge half marathon.  It was both wet and windy but not as bad as forecast.  The final three or so miles were particularly tough, especially the mile after the 11 mile marker, most of which was uphill into a head wind.  A bit slower than last year at 1:55, I was delighted to see the finish line!  Here’s to next year!”
