Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025: Double Your Donation

Posted on: Thursday, November 13th, 2025
A girl wearing a pink and white patterned dress is sat outside under a hut smiling into the camera. She has dark hair pulled back, and has a green eye patch on her left eye. To her left is her brother, wearing a brown and white t-shirt, with short, dark hair, he has a green eye patch on his right eye. This image is being used as part of our Big Give Christmas Challenge.

This December, we’re thrilled to be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. For one week only, your donation will be doubled, giving your gift twice the impact!

From 2 December to 9 December, every gift you make to CBM UK’s Big Give Christmas Challenge appeal through the Big Give website will be matched-funded, up to our target of £99,600. That means every £1 you give becomes £2 – helping even more children who are needlessly blind in some of the world’s poorest places to see again and look forward to a brighter future. Thank you.

Please donate to our Big Give Christmas Challenge and your gift will be DOUBLED.

We know times are tough for many people, but every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Your support helps us to continue providing sight-saving surgeries and treatments for men, women and children who would otherwise face a lifetime of blindness.

Since 2019, thanks to the incredible generosity of CBM UK supporters, we’ve raised over £368,000 through the Big Give. It has brought sight and hope to thousands of people, but we couldn’t do it without you.

Meet Samjhana and Anshu from Nepal

Samjhana (10) and Anshu (6) live in rural Nepal with their mother, Sushila.  Both siblings were born with disabilities – Samjhana has a physical disability, and Anshu has a learning disability – and both developed cataracts in both eyes. Although cataract surgery is simple and effective, Sushila couldn’t afford the cost.

“We only came to know about the cataracts […] during the cataract screening visit at their school,” Sushila told us.

No one should lose their sight simply because they are poor. Yet in some of the world’s poorest places, children like Samjhana and Anshu go needlessly blind because they can’t access the care they need.

By supporting CBM UK’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, you can help children like Samjhana and Anshu regain their sight – giving them the chance to go to school, play with their friends, and dream of a brighter future.
