QAV celebrates 20 years with CBM partnership to save sight

Posted on: Friday, April 23rd, 2021

Cambridgeshire audio-visual company QAV has decided to celebrate their 20th year in business with a year-long partnership with CBM, helping prevent blindness in the world’s poorest places.

Through the partnership, QAV will support sight-saving work in Zimbabwe, helping thousands of people living in rural areas to access quality eye health services.

Worldwide, an incredible 3 out of 4 people who are blind don’t need to be. Millions more struggle to read, get around or earn a living because they don’t have access to something as simple as a pair of glasses.

Gordon Baird, Managing Director at QAV:

“After hearing about CBM’s eye health work in the world’s poorest communities, we were inspired to choose them as our Charity of the Year – it seemed the perfect way to mark our 20th year in business. We’re happy that, through our partnership, we’ll be able to support people living in rural communities in Zimbabwe by ensuring they have access to eye health services.”

QAV is a well-established, professional audio-visual company based in Ely. Working with clients in the pharmaceutical industry across the globe, QAV hopes staff and customers will join an ‘Eye Health Journey’ over the year, learning more about avoidable blindness in the world’s poorest places and how it can be prevented or treated.

Together, QAV and CBM can help more people access sight-saving surgery, glasses and support so they can go to school, read and write, get around safely and support themselves and their families. We can help build a world where no one is needlessly blind.
