Kenya Food Crisis

Urgent Appeal: The most vulnerable people in Kenya need your help

People in Kenya desperately need your help.

A lack of rain across parts of East Africa has led to crop failures, drought and widespread food shortages. People in Kenya are paying the devastating price for a climate crisis they have done nothing to create.

Families are on the verge of starvation. Many are facing the impossible choice between food, water and medicine, every day.

People with disabilities are already among the poorest in their communities and are often the last to receive help at times of crisis.

Your urgent donation could help provide life-saving support through this crisis to help the most vulnerable people.

Please donate now. Thank you.

"People are already dying – and if the world continues to ignore this “invisible crisis”, many more will lose their lives."

Kevin Sudi
CBM Global - Kenya Team

Kevin Sudi from our CBM Global Kenya Team tells us: "I hear this isn’t being reported widely in the UK media, but here in Kenya, like many parts of East Africa, we’re currently experiencing the devastating impacts of climate change, with a lack of rain leading to crop failures.

"I’ve travelled around the country in the past few weeks, visiting communities affected by the drought. Most of the farmers I met were unable to sow crops, and the few who have, are seeing them fail.

"These are desperate times."

CBM is ready with our Kenyan partner organisations to deliver urgent support in Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties, where 11,750 households are experiencing the ongoing drought. But help is only possible with your support.

By donating today, you can help some of the most vulnerable people access clean water and food. Please make an urgent gift. Thank you.

Your donation will help provide urgent support to people living with disability and struggling in poverty and emergency situations. Donations will be prioritised for CBM’s response in Kenya with any surplus funds used where the need is greatest.
