You can help restore sight for a child like Kiki

With a gift today you could help give a child like Kiki life-changing cataract surgery

A straightforward surgery could remove Kiki’s cataracts and change her life.

Kiki is nine years old and lives in a small village in Cameroon, Central Africa. When she was little, her parents noticed that she had vision problems. They hoped and prayed Kiki’s condition would improve, but it steadily got worse.

"I felt helpless watching her stumble, getting excluded from play and often sitting alone because of her eye problems,” says her mother, Chimene.

A life of sight for just £95

Kiki has been examined by doctors, who have found she has cataracts. This eye condition can be treated with a straightforward surgery, but like many families in the world’s poorest places, Kiki’s family live in poverty and could never afford the £95 cost. She could spend her whole life blind, just because she is poor.

"I did not even want to imagine that anything could be wrong with her eyes... I felt helpless watching her stumble, getting excluded from play and often sitting alone because of her eye problems."

“When we go to school, I hold her hand and lead her so that a motorbike or car will not knock her down. I love my sister and protect her.”

Elizabeth, Kiki's older sister.
