This year, Christian Blind Mission (CBM) falls on 11 October, the first Sunday after World Sight Day on 8 October. Churches across the country are invited to join CBM in prayer and reflection for people living with avoidable blindness.

We hope your church will take part in this special day – a chance to remember those too often forgotten, celebrate God’s message of justice for all, and help raise vital funds for people living with sight loss in some of the world’s poorest communities.

For children like Sombiniaina in Madagascar, early diagnosis made all the difference. When a CBM partner eye doctor examined her using an Arclight, he discovered she had retinoblastoma, a rare and deadly eye cancer. The diagnosis came just in time, enabling her to receive urgent treatment that saved her life. Stories like Sombiniaina’s remind us that access to healthcare is not something everyone can take for granted. Through tools like the Arclight, trained eye care professionals can take quality eye care directly to communities that would otherwise be beyond reach, helping thousands of people receive the diagnosis and treatment they need.

We hope your church will take part in this special day. Together, we can celebrate God’s call to bring light into darkness, stand alongside people who are too often forgotten, and help ensure more children and adults receive the sight-saving care they deserve.
