Diane Louise Jordan voices support for Covid-19 appeal
Broadcaster and former Blue Peter and Songs of Praise presenter Diane Louise Jordan has urged people to support CBM’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic through prayer and donations. Having travelled with CBM to Rwanda earlier this year, Diane has witnessed first-hand the challenges which people with disabilities in the world’s poorest places face every day – and many of these challenges have been exacerbated by the Coronavirus outbreak. Diane says:
“I’ve seen for myself how CBM’s work changes lives in the world’s poorest places. Now more than ever, CBM needs your prayers and gifts to protect the most vulnerable people during this Covid-19 crisis. We really need your help now to deliver vital supplies, like food and soap, to families living in extreme poverty and to make sure they can access vital information about how to stay safe. Your support will protect health workers and help CBM’s partner hospitals so they can carry on this vital work safely. Please join me in supporting CBM today.”
Earlier this year, in February, Diane and her grandson Preston, travelled to Rwanda to witness the impact of CBM’s sight-saving work. Diane met 10 year-old Etienne, who was blind due to cataracts, and was astounded by the difference a simple cataract operation can have on children like this in the world’s poorest places. Watch Etienne’s Miracle, the heart-warming film of her visit, below, and read the moving diary of her week in Rwanda (open link in new tab).

Diane also recently spoke about her support for CBM in an interview for Metro News (open link in new tab). We are so grateful to Diane for her continued support of CBM at a time when our services are needed now more than ever.
