Gyles Brandreth supports CBM UK’s Christmas Appeal
Gyles Brandreth and his wife, Michèle, have been passionately supporting our sight-saving work for over 20 years. Sharing his message of support, Gyles said:
“This Christmas, I’m supporting CBM UK’s Christmas appeal to give the gift of sight to children living in some of the world’s poorest places.
For just £95 – and less than an hour of surgery – a child’s sight can be restored. It’s simple, it’s life-changing, and it’s something we can do together. Please join me – and give the gift of sight this Christmas.”
Sight loss has a huge impact on people’s lives. Without access to eye care, children can’t go to school, adults can’t work, and families are trapped in the cycle of poverty and disability. And as the world’s population grows, the number of people living with avoidable blindness is growing.
Right now, millions of children like Samjhana and Anshu – whose stories feature in our Christmas appeal – are living needlessly blind because they can’t access the cataract surgery they urgently need. A simple, low-cost operation can restore their sight – opening up a world of learning, playing and hope for the future.
This Christmas, you can help reach even more children with sight-saving treatment. Find out more about the CBM Christmas appeal.
