Our work in Zimbabwe

Facing an economic crisis, Zimbabwe’s health system struggles with a high burden of maternal and childhood illnesses, in addition to HIV. A desperate shortage of eye health workers and equipment also means vital treatment is out of reach for many people.

Creating lasting change

As a Zimbabwe charity and together with our local partners, we have been working in Zimbabwe since 1974. Today we’re reaching communities with our inclusive eye health work to prevent and treat blindness, improving health, and helping children with disabilities to go to school.

Building inclusive communities where everyone can thrive

With your support we can continue to build a more inclusive society where people with disabilities can get the healthcare they need, go to school, and fulfil their potential.

“I am not sure what distance I walk from home to school, but it takes one hour for me to use my crutches to walk to school.”
